The Early Years Foundation Stage
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework.
The Early Years Foundation Stage sets the standards that all early years providers must meet to ensure that children learn, develop and are kept healthy and safe.
It promotes teaching and learning to ensure children's 'school readiness' and gives children the broad range of knowledge and skills that provide a good foundation for their future. The EYFS covers the stage of children's development from birth to the end of their first year in school. Children in the EYFS learn by:- Playing and Exploring Being Active Creating and critically thinking |
Your child will be learning skills, acquiring new knowledge and demonstrating their understanding through 7 areas of leaning and development.
The three prime areas are; Personal, Social and Emotional Development Communication and Language Physical Development These prime areas are those most essential for your child's healthy development and future learning. As children grow, the prime areas will help them to develop skills in four specific areas. These are: Literacy Mathematics Understanding the world Expressive Arts and Design. At Little Stars, activities are planned with this framework in mind, ensuring that the children's interests are incorporated into their play experiences to stimulate their learning.

All children are observed and assessed during play, we share photographs of your child's day with you on a regular basis and encourage parents to share your child's interests and development milestones with us.
